
Area IX Adult Rider Program
Welcome to theArea IX Adult Rider Program under the United States Eventing Association (USEA).
The Adult Rider Program is designed to support, connect, and recognize adult competitors within Area IX through team competitions, educational opportunities, awards, and community-building events.
Adult Rider Status – Required for Participation
To participate in any Area IX Adult Rider programming in 2026, you must:

Be a current USEA member

Select and confirm Adult Rider Program Status within your USEA member dashboard
Adult Rider status can only be confirmed through your USEA dashboard.
American Eventing Championships (AEC)
Adult Team Championships (ATC)
The Adult Team Championships (ATC) are held annually at the American Eventing Championships (AEC) and provide Adult Riders the opportunity to represent Area IX in national team competition.
To participate in the ATC, riders must:

Be a current USEA member

Have Adult Rider Program status selected

Meet AEC qualification requirements at the level entered

Submit a national Letter of Intent by the USEA deadline

Notify the Area IX Adult Rider Coordinator in advance
Area IX teams must be submitted prior to the national AEC closing date. Riders are strongly encouraged to notify the Adult Rider Coordinator early — even if participation is tentative — to ensure proper team formation and submission.

Area IX Adult Rider Educational Credit Program – 2026
The Area IX Adult Rider Program is continuing the Educational Credit for active Adult Riders in 2026.
Eligible riders may receive:
One $50.00 reimbursement per year
For participation in a USEA-insured clinic or educational activity.
2026 Educational Credit Program Criteria:

You must be an active USEA Area IX Adult Rider for the year 2026.

This is a ONE-time, per year Credit Certificate valid for any clinic or schooling show that is registered and has paid insurance through the USEA beginning January 1 through November 30, 2026. The Adult Rider Coordinator will confirm your participation in the clinic or workshop.

Rebecca will confirm your attendance and paid entry.

Once the completed form has been received and verified, you will receive a mailed check from the USEA Area IX Adult Riders in the amount of $50.00.
Educational Credit submissions must be received by November 30, 2026.
2026 Area IX Adult Team Challenges
Area IX will host Adult Team Challenges at select events throughout the season. These team competitions are designed to promote camaraderie, sportsmanship, and friendly competition among Adult Riders.

May 29–31, 2026
Tomora HT
September 26–27, 2026
Team formation details, entry procedures, and scoring format will be posted prior to each event.
Volunteers are needed to assist with:

Adult Rider Ribbons at Area IX Events
Area IX intends to continue awarding Adult Rider ribbons at select horse trials throughout the 2026 season.
Traditionally, ribbons are awarded 1st–3rd for the highest placed Adult Riders per level at participating events.
This program is volunteer-supported. Assistance with scoring and ribbon presentation is always appreciated. Please reach out if you would like to help ensure this tradition continues.
Area IX Adult Rider Year-End Awards
Area IX Adult Rider Year-End Awards are presented annually at the Area IX Year-End Banquet.
These awards recognize the top Adult Riders in each level based on USEA recognized competition results within Area IX for the calendar year.

To be eligible for Year-End Adult Rider Awards:

Final standings and award details will be confirmed at the conclusion of the 2026 competition season.
